Must-Have Gadgets for the 2016 Holiday Season

We know you’ve got a guy or gal in your life who just loves gadgets. We happen to love technology (especially the portable stuff) and there’s so much awesome tech to choose from this holiday season. We’ve put together a list of our favourites for 2016.

We hope it may help ease the burden as you brave the malls. (Here’s a tip: you can always just do all your shopping online this year).

For the movie buff

Turn any room into a movie theatre with the AAXA P4-X Pico Projector. The handheld portable projector allows you to show movies or presentations on a wall or a sheet (or any suitable surface) for up to 90 minutes on battery power. It comes with built-in speakers, as well as an AV input for using headphones.

For the nature lover (or someone who just texts a lot on the road)

We all need more battery power in our lives, especially when we’re out in the woods. The Outdoortech Kodiak 2.0 is portable power bank. You can charge your mobile devices, including tablets, on the go.

It’s compatible with all phones, has a built-in flashlight, and is waterproof. It’s also shockproof, which means you’ll have to try really hard to break it.

For the podcast aficionado

For listening to tunes or podcasts next to the hot tub, check out the JBL Flip 3 Splashproof speaker. A few drops of water won’t hurt it. Boasting excellent battery life and sound, the compact speaker is a great way to enjoy audio when you're away from your setup at home.

For the photographer

The photog-on-the-go needs the Polaroid Cube Camera. The tiny square camera goes anywhere you go and can record up to 90 minutes of video. Perfect for action shots and unique angles. Check out the video below to see what it can do.

For the athlete

Access real-time statistics while you’re jogging with the TomTom Runner Cardio GPS Watch. It syncs automatically with your smartphone, allowing you to set goals for the week and assess if you’re meeting your overall targets. We like the large LCD display and up to 10 hours of battery life.

Who says you can’t bike all winter? Consider napping the Schwinn CycleNAV as a stocking stuffer for that friend who loves to cycle. This affordable device offers smartphone-powered bike navigation.

It works with Bluetooth to provide visual and audio directions to you as your cycling (looking down at Google Maps on your iPhone isn’t exactly safe on a bike). It also comes with a built-in LED bike light.
