We’re hiring for an IT job in Calgary.
We’re excited to add an Intermediate Technician to our team in the near future. You can check out the official job posting here.
On top of lots of great perks, like working from home (we hire people we trust and don’t pad our fees to pay for a fancy office space), TWT offers employees paid, paid vacation. In addition to your regular paid holidays, we’ll actually pay for your vacation, as long as you adhere to a handful of rules:
You actually take the vacation: You have to book a flight and a hotel, leave the city and do something exciting, entertaining or relaxing. It doesn’t matter what you do, but you can’t stay home and play video games or mow the lawn.
You close your laptop and turn off your phone: Many employees these days are expected to answer emails and phone calls, even while on vacation. This is a terrible expectation and we’d like to see it end. We don’t want to see you answering work inquiries during your time off. We won’t send you annoying emails while you sit on the beach. We’ll respect your out-of-office alert.
You take a real break: Read that critically-acclaimed novel sitting on your shelf. Think about your personal goals that have nothing to do with work. We live in a competitive world. Sometimes it feels like if we stop for a moment, everyone will pass us. It’s OK to skip the race sometimes. Your job will be waiting for you when you get back.
Why are we doing this?
We feel rest and relaxation are important for the health of our employees and the high quality of our service. We know our valued clients will notice when our employees are happy, and luckily, happiness is infectious.
Human beings aren’t meant to work 24/7. When we work too much, we get stressed out, ineffective and unpleasant to be around. A good vacation means you’ll return to TWT and our clients’ offices refreshed and focused. We believe you’ll be happier and more productive in the long run.
How does it work?
We’ll contribute $1,000 per week of vacation, on top of your regular pay. If you choose to move to another company within six months of your paid, paid vacation (but really — why would you?) you’ll be asked to pay it back.
Don’t worry, we don’t book the vacation for you. You may want to take your kids to Disneyland. You may want to hike the Rockies solo. You may want to wander Jerusalem with a tour group. You choose.
